that maxima story reminded me of a race I had w/ a 96 or so about a month ago. I was headed to one of my buddy's houses to take him home about 2am one night when I pulled to this 95-97 maxima at a light. He had all these stickers, some gauges and exhaust, plus a couple of friends. While we sat at this light waiting for it to turn green, I could tell he was eyeing me to race, but I didn't think it was worth it. Well the light turned and curiousity got the better of me so after waiting to see if he'd take off(and he did) I followed suit. I'd say he had about a ca length and a half when I launched, well it wasn't very spectacular. About the end of second thru the start of third, i pulled in on him hard and was wrapping out third fixing to pass and lose him when I saw a cop leaving a neighborhood street in front of us(i think we were about 60 mph). Knowing I had him beat, I just braked, slowed and turned off(not wanting to get a ticketed). He on the other hand still thought we were racing or just didn't see the cop and sped off. I never saw what happened after that, but needless to say I wasn't very impressed. This was when the FC was still NA and with 125K-130K no mods and the engine blew on me at 137K. Like I said I wasn't very impressed. Anyway just thought I'd share.

 

well they are slow, but good job, u still wasted him with no mods too.

 

Personally, I think he was dumb to race with that many people in his car. I also think all his "mods" weren't worth the effort he took putting on his car..LOL

Well, maybe I wasn't too honest. I did remove my three cats in exchange for a hi-flow cat. I also removed my stock airbox. How much difference could that have possibly made?
