hey,

so I pulled the interior trim and headliner to have a look-see under there - looks like the pinch-weld in the top corners is starting to rust a bit. The paint is also bubbling up on the roof right by the reveal molding.

I want a pro to do the windshield work, but I do not want to pay a bodyshop a ton of $$ to fix the rust areas. So what I will try to do is get the windshield guy to remove the glass one day, and come back to replace it another. In the meantime, I will buy some POR-15, and try to treat the affected area myself. I've never done any body work before...so this should be interesting. I'm actually kinda nervous.

The real trick is to minimize the cars downtime to 1 or 2 days. She is my only car. I gettign really depressed over this...I've put so much work into her. And now the body is begining to dessintegrate. Damn...must not let that rust spread!

Any suggestions / ideas from you more experienced body-work guys?

I can tell you first off that no glass shop or body shop will guarentee that the winshield won't break when they try and take it out. Where are you located? maybe I can help you out some more.

Hey,

I live in Whippany (Parsippany), and work in Paramus. The I-80 parkinglot is my home away from home.

I am planning on getting a new windshield...so I don't care about the old one breaking.

Are you in a hurry? If not I know a guy at the glass shop I deal with that does "side jobs" I can ask him how much to pull your glass, fix the rust, and put it back(or a new one). I'm sure I'll see him by friday. he's in passaic, if he does'nt want to travel that far, you can just use my house as the workshop

That would be cool with me. I can deffinately wait a few more days. The crack has been slowly spreading accross the glass for 2 months now...so whats a few more days gonna do!

After you talk to him, give me a PM, or email is even faster sunshine1696@juno.com

and we can work out the details. Thank you,

-alex

How can you not keep track of them all? You used to own 1/2 of them at some point or another
