OK, whats the deal with these? I'm assuming they're knock offs due to the rock bottom price and the fact that the bootleggers point out that they seem to have registered the Bride trademark in other countries... I think I saw a set of these the other day IRL and they didn't look that bad. Had me fooled, although I did not like how they didn't have that fancy bride fabric. Actually looking at more of these, some look pretty crappily done. Does real bride make a seat in all black that says low max on it? Maybe I saw some real ones...

These have been around for a while and have caused a bit of a stir. Basically, BRIDE Japan (the real ones) outsourced thier factories to Taiwan on the cheap (had been going on for a while). Then the factory that was building the seats backed out of thier contract and started making replicas and selling them for dirt cheap. I've "heard" from a fair amount of BMW guys that they are great quality and are compareable to the real thing, but personally I wouldn't go there. Also, the fake ones only come with the FRP shell with the all black cloth which BRIDE Japan never made, so if someone like me who knows sees your car... they'll know you're a poser!

Now if they came in the same color scheme then go for it... It's a tough sell to buy real BRIDE seats because for $1500 each, you're only like a $100 away from some ballin Spirit R seats. I'm talking more about the GIAS and not the full bucket. AND did you know NONE of BRIDE Japan's real seats are even FIA approved? You can't even use them at Solo1...

Good info... I could have sworn real brides were FIA approved. Maybe I'll get the knock offs and color in the white and red logo with a sharpie. Actually, having a seat that doesn't fold forward seems like a huge pain. I'm always hauling stuff in my FC.

After seeing what a race seat goes through after a crash, I wouldnt cheap out on the seats. If they cut down the anchoring material buy a bunch you would rattle around like the last M&M in a box even with a harness.. Rule of thumb, all knocked off stuff is junk..

The Momo stuff is tagged and is pretty affordable.

Hmm, on the Bride site, it has everything is made in Japan.
