(got this goin on Both forums but would liek ur guys' insight)

Hey guys i know this topic ahs been KILLED to death on the forum but i need some help. I am a total newbie to audio equipment ect. I can install HUs but when it comes to speakers im a no go. Basically heres my situation

- Bought Infinity Kappa 52.5is to replace the bose door speakers

-Have a new Panasonic HU to replace the Stock

-Want to keep the existing Center Speaker and Bose Snake

I have tried looking at the bose diagram but thats another language to me it seems

I have PM some of you about this but would like to open it for all who might have some imput.

Basically i would like to use the Bose enclosures(after i mod them to fit the speakers) but am having a hard time with the wiring. Would i need the adapter if im going new speakers and HU but same Bose rear? Do I need to rewire both the door speakers? The wire that go to the door speakers are:

*purple

*yellow

*black

*orange

those in turn go to the Bose speaker amps and then from there the speaker wires come out (Red and Light Green)

If anyone can shed some light on this i would be FOREVER grateful. TIA guys

You might be able to get away without the wiring adapter..

The stock headunit essentially puts out a weaker signal than the aftermarket one. The adapter simply lowers the gain of the new stereo output. WIthout it, a tiny adjustment on the headunit can result in a HUGE volume change from the speakers. But it is actually safe to run without, as long as you don't turn the volume up too high

I don't know what you have heard about blowing the speakers etc., but that is what I've done..

Yes, you need to rewire both door speakers. The built in amp needs to be removed/disconnected. Don't use the bose door amps to power the new speakers, it'll be shitty sound and won't last long!

Here's the way I would set it up, if I was you:

-Door channels (Headunit>Speakers)

-Rear and center Bose (Headunit>Adapter>Factory Amps>Speakers)

Just cut and splice so the two pairs of wires that lead to the Bose components have the adapter just behind the headunit. The adapter has pots on it that will let you equalize the gain so it matches the other speakers.

or like ccarlisi told me you can run the snake off a aftermarket sub just invert the wires. i put the 5.25 kappa components in my bose car it required some dremel but it is woth it. a little dynamat in the door will be nice also
