"Autobahn" is the term for highway auf Deutsch (in German)...it's not just one road. Instead it's every major highway in Germany and at some places there are no speed limits. I lived there for 6 years and maxxed out my RS2000 Escort (do some homework before you laugh at it) every day to and from work. Who needs coffee in the mornin when you got SPEED!!!! God, I miss Deutschland.....

Never driven it. but god do I miss riding on it. So many memories. Spining out a MK1 MR2 at 65MPH. step dad trying to say that he'd show us what "Real American Power" (funny joke considering it was a late 80's Grand Am.) can do on the autobahn (hmm. funny, he got passed by everything rideing that day)

Oh, and not to forget, being plastered to the seat while my mom was trying to winde out her boss' Porsche.

Thing about german cars is how the torque and hp are very close all the way to redline...a v8 american car doesnt have this, especially a late 80's grand am, LOL!

It was the two wheel (wrong wheels) drive model...only thing I didn't like about the car. Black with factory Recaros for all four seats. It had some minor engine work and I'm ashamed to say would stomp the doors off my GSL-SE without working too hard.

The red car in the top right here is just like mine...also some specs...it wasn't a monster but it was pretty damn quick.

That would be the "base model" ford escort they use as the back bone for the escort cossie. I owned a merkur xr4ti, or sierra xr4i, not exactly the "base model" but the "luxo" xr4i model available only in the states...while europe got the sierra cosworth...lucky bastids.
