wow, so I guess video games are more realistic than I thought. you learn something new every day...

 

I actually had nearly the exact same scenario happen to me in my FD! If it wasn't for all the red lights I didn't want to run, I would've toasted him, but I couldn't justify maintaining 120+ in a 40MPH zone.. Everytime I slowed for a red light (and then ran it) he caught up. We (my fiance and i) were on the phone with the cops the WHOLE TIME BEGGING them to send a squad car. All they said was "all units are busy!!!" WTF!! In retrospect, I shoulda told my girl to mute the phone and put the 911 dispatcher on hold, then have her get back on in 10 seconds and say "nevermind, we shot our persuer, he's dead." See how fast they respond then, lol.

 

Maybe it was you that this story reminded me of...was it a Caprice then, too?

 

we had something like that happen except it was a chevy truck and a tire iron.

Ahh the closest Ive come to anything as crazy as that was me and Jspecracer7 were out one night. We were going down a 3 lane road when we came up on 4 bosozuku(japanese teens on bikes with bats) and a large group of mopeds trailing behind them. Well after following them for a few miles doing about 10MPH, I finally decided to see if my wastegate would scare them into opening up a hole up for us to go thru. Well after comming within inches of the mopeds..a hole opened up hehe. Well Jspec gets thru and I'm right behind him, then I pass Jspec. I check my rearview mirror and I see Jspec and bhind him I see 4 bouncing lights from the bikes..I really didnt feel like haveing my car beat down by some punk kids.. so I take off. I make the turn to head twards a base, thinking Jspec was going to keep heading strait to go pick up his g/f. So after I make the turn I give him a call..Me"Where are you?" Jspec"Behind you."me"Where are the boso?"Jspec"behind me!!"me"****!". Luckly the gate to our base was just a couple blocks down.. so I floored it. After we both made it onto base, I asked Jspec what hapend to our "friends"? he said they turned off.. guess they couldnt keep up with us..lol

 

I guess next time someone tries to pass me, I'll let them go...
