I needed a car to get to my new job while I restored my fiero, and saw this red rx-7 in a used dealership lot. Bought the car for $2600, an 87 GXL w/73k miles or so... The guy told me it had leaky valve seals and would need them replaced to make it stop blowing a little smoke in the mornings... I didnt know anything about rotaries at the time and just bought the car, it was stick, looked cool, 2 seater, and I had not heard many bad things about mazdas. Later that day I started doing research online about the car I had just purchased and discovered the rotary engine, I became obsessed instantly. The car has 104k miles on it now, and the fiero is still in the garage in pieces, the13b on the engine stand being rebuilt finally fixing that leaky valve seal.... riiight.
