Preface: I (used to) be the manager for a national-chain Auto Center, which is part of a larger department chain.
So I went into work today, took all my stuff out of the office, went into the shop and put 2 new tires on the GXL (paid for) and bullshitted with the guys for a few minutes. Then I went to the general manager's office, and after waiting for another manager to get done spewing his bullshit to the GM, I went in. She asked me what was going on, and I very politely informed her that I was resigning my post within the company, effective immediately. I handed over my store keys and corporate credit card and left. My reasons for leaving were entirely based on the events of the past 5 months within my particular store. For example: the GM refusing to pay my employees when their checks were sent to the wrong address through no fault of their own, then still refusing to give them their pay when corporate told her to do it. I have been fighting trough some pretty severe depression since I took the management position, and it all came to a head last night. So this afternoon, I just went in and, very politely, quit.
Anone got a job for me?!

thank you, you know no matter how much you hear it, it's always nice to hear it again. I do my best, i put in the hours and a little recognition is nice!
