galaxies is going to redefine gaming as we know it
Yeah, it'll be the 1st large space RPG and one based on an exsisting mythology so that alone will change things.
The question rapidly becomes will the skill system work right and do they REALLY think they're going to stop the grief players and idiocy? I dunno if Raph can do it, granted he has a lot of expereince coming from UO and the dumb things that went on there. Of course his fixes sucked most times too.
EQ is really nothing more then a suped up version of Rogue. Camping all that idiotic stuff killed the game for me, alltho it's a lot different now.
I'm waiting for Horizons I want to see what they're going to do. Plus theres AC2 which sould prove good and perhaps Dragonrealms.
EQ 2 is shaping up pretty good, EQ 2 aka EQ2: The Dark Ages of Norrath....it's a rip of DAOC.

Just curious, in what aspects do you think the Xbox is better? Besides the obvious "numbers" difference; the benchmarks.
Just a little sidenote...the Xbox is powered by a Celeron processor and generation-old Nvidia 3D technology. An Xbox is a cheap PC. On the other hand, we've yet to see a PS2 emulator because of the complex hardware, mainly the Emotion Engine.
Just my $.02. :bigthumg:
The hard ware is a huge telling point, the Xbox has more texture memory then the PS2 has memory period. Plus that hard drive really kicks butt.
The CPU in the Xbox is the mobile version of the PIII and the Nvidia hardware is a suped GeForce 4, it's till a bit faster.
As far as the Xbox being a cheap PC, the PC is sitting there doing various non game related tasks such as checking file systems, allocating memory, watching the desktop and all sorts of things that are not good for gaming.
The Xbox on the other hand does nothing but deal with the game at hand, 100% of it's resources are at the game.
Thus unless you write your own OS and do some major hardware tweaks to the PC it's not an Xbox any more then saying a Mac is a PC cause it has the same parts.
The emotion engine is complex...TOO complex. 2 processors that don't talk to eachother well, have to be hand serialized and the work hand tuned to work between the two of them. It's a pain in the **** and why some of the big developers won't mess with it.
The xbox controls are better and fully expandable, dunno about the PS2. The PS2 has the PCMCIA slot and firewire but what are they going to do with it?
The other thing is the developers as I said before. Developers work for what's easy and makes them money. The Xbox is real easy to work with, espeically for PC developers and they make more per title.

Some would say I love the Xbox cause I'm a Bill Gates Groupie but that's not so, I like it cause it rocks. I'm a game junkie first and foremost, it's what computers are really for everything else is just a diversion.

Well, I don't own an XBox; I'm opposite of you I guess. Computers are my main thing, I spend the majority of my time on them. Unless I'm playing GT3 or Mat Hoffman's Pro Bmx 2. Hehe.
If I wasn't saving for an FD...I would probably own Microsoft's seed, growing power for world domination.
But then again, I'm running Windows XP...

There is a Halo port for the PC coming up.
Oh geesh get off it, Microsoft isn't spying on you now and the only reason you hate Bill Gates is becuase he has more money then you and because everyone else does.
Humans, when left to their own devices, usuall imitate each other.
