Here's a thought:
Music must be a core part of human thought, possibly even entrenched in one some may call a soul. Every culture has some sort of music. Even though not everyone is educated in the theory of music, most everyone would say a minor chord sounds wrong, or evil in some way, while a major chord sounds pleasant. Yet I like green beans and my little brother doesn't, I don't like the smell of peanut butter but my wife does, and I enjoy a hot shower while some people consider it a chore. So why is it that music is so univeral? Why are certain sounds known to be pleasant, even by untrained ears? Not of certain genres or artists, but of certain progressions and chords. It fascinates me, but not to the point of me wanting to go educate myself about it.
