What I Hate About Corporations
#1
Corporations are ******* bullshit
At my work, they hired an assistant for me. She left about 4 months later because she couldn't keep up. I have now been working 1.5 - 2 full time jobs with the amount of work i do.
So someone here who has more time than i do volunteered to help me.. I'm pumped because I can cut down on hours (working 65-70 hours a week + a 2 hour daily drive).. so with my drive 75-80 hours just getting by weekly... So I was giving her (the volunteer) weekly work (everything is time critical where I work) I normally get the **** done that needs to get done within a couple of days.
anyways, i go in her office and the work i gave her 2 weeks ago is just sitting in a pile set aside.. this **** needed to go out last week.
I email my boss and just let him know that we might be getting some complaints, and he was like "its on you, you should be doing this"... then the girl who volunteered blamed all the **** on me. like she was instantly to busy to do the **** i gave her.. . at this point im like "DON'T ******* VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUT IF YOUR NOT GONNA DO JACK ****".. I'd rather work my 65-70 hours a week and get my **** done... why the **** do people say they'll help, then sit on there *** and email ******* friends all day.
I just don't ******* get it.. if you want to help, help.. and why the **** is my company putting off hiring another person under me again.. its a ******* multi-billion dollar company; i guess they figure they'd cut back if one person is willing to do all the work in my office...
im off for 11 days starting tommorrow. time to look for a new job.

she should have told you if she suddenly got a a work overload so you would have gotten it done. however, it was your job to make sure it was getting done and not wait till a week after it was due to go and find out it wasnt getting done.
where i work at, 90% of things needed to be done yesterday. somehow the company strives on last minute projects. even when enough lead time is given they still wait for the last minute to get it done. besides half the things that other dept say are needed yesterday and rush us to do, is incomplete due to their innability to get their job done.....

i know it was on me to get it done in the first place. however, my supervisor knew what i was giving her, and agreed that she should do it, and had the amount of time necessary to complete the task..
at most i was giving her 45 minutes of work a couple days a week.. just to take the edge off of my job.. this chick has several hours a day to burn... they took away a lot of responsibility from her to give her less in the past, and to take care of a few odds and ends...
when you find out a week later that the **** hasn't been done its' frustrating..
the crap part is that the boss knew about it, and agreed.. and made it her responsibility, then comes back later and says its your problem.. EVEN WHEN its apparent that the chick hasn't been doing jack ****.
yes i know i should have kept a better eye on it, but it's hard to when you have so much going on, that your just hoping it's getting taken care of.
maybe im the fuckup for trying to give some work away, but im 23, this bitch is like 41 or so making more than me.. she is ******* lazy.. the work ethic of some people is just ****.

shouldnt you be working????lol
i somewhat understand, but unfortunately, it was your work that didnt get done. trust me, ive been there, and worse, because for part of my job i take car of a system for ppl in my dept but another group, but i do work they "think" they shouldnt do, so theyre my backups to work they should be doing. and when things go wrong as it has in the past partly my fault, instead of being ohh so and so forgot to do "x", let me do it real quick. NO, they are like so and so is not doing his/her job...confusing, sorry.
but yeah sometimes work sucks and sometimes people suck....

haha.. i normally check the forum on lunch, and once or twice a day as a stress reliever.
i just had a meeting with my boss.. she said they are in the process of hiring people.. however it normally takes 3-4 months to hire someone here.. they are so damn picky. honestly though, they aren't going hire anyone, they keep talking about it, but it won't happen.
well, it looks like im stuck with my workweeks.. can't wait till vacation.. last night i was here from 8am till 8:30pm.

Lack of planning on your part, does not make it my crisis.
My Co-worker retired this year. We transferred a "kid" in and sent him to 2 weeks of school for the Software program (Cost 10K). This "kid" has yet to work a full week. He is getting ready to get the boot!
