Actually, it is not the forums fault. Phinsup requested that I went ahead with some of our plans with the board.
Well, I'm sorry. Three in the morning and I was working on a file upload script so that members can automatically post pictures of their rides.
I am also working on some free web space for you guys.
Oops, so i hit the wrong button and lost a days post and registers. Three am and my eyes don't work as good.
And yes, had to restore the prior days backup. It's not phinsups fault or the boards fault, just a lot of scripting taking place and a second of carlessness (my fault).....
I am trying to make this board a better place with more functions, but I am sorry for the "growing pains"
If you lost a post, I will probably be able to reteive it and if you registered on Monday, you might have to reregister.
Sorry 'bout that

No he won't......
As many nights as I have been up working on this board free gratis till 4 and 5 in the am, I doubt very seriously that he will be upset.
I just happen to not be one to hide behind mistakes and figure the members should know what took place so that they don't think it was the board.
Yes, you are right, I should have had a more current backup but did not. I will probably retreive the data before it is all over, but that is a mute point.
Nope, not a wannabe developer.... don't claim to be......

Thanks,
Now, I need you guys to help me a little...... I have the picture upload script configured and working fine on another server. I just have to change the paths for this site.
It will allow you to upload to a directory that I have another script that will spit it out as an HTML page to be viewed.
What categories do you want for the pictures?
When you go to upload your picture, you will select a "type", such as first gen, second gen, modified, whatever.
Please list me some categories that you would like to have included.

Here is what is is in it's primitive stage. It will get a cosmetic before I place it on the site

I like honesty also. Keep up the good work. I've been in computers over 35 years. New projects always have a shake down period. I'm very understanding and patient, I've been there.
"haste makes waste". When I was young I was always impatient and made my share of mistakes. When I was a Technical Manager of a gigantic(at that time) IBM MVS CICS mainframe, my software programmer brought down a 30,000 terminal seven state mainframe. No he didn't get fired, just installed procedures so that never happened again.

Simple things like run the backup just before installing.... because if it can happen, it will!!!!
Hey, at least I got the data back.... could have been worse, but I think the members will like being able to directly upload pictures

I don't know what the philosophy of the owners of this forum is. Mine is quality patient growth. I like see it attract quality members. Of course, my definition of quality might differ from others.
All we have to do is be patient. Eventually if we have a quality product the word will get out. We can endure any negative comments. Constructive critques are welcome to me. As you progress the grips will change to compliments.
