Well, I put a new belt on and replaced the melted parts(mostly hoses). Fired it up...it didn't start well at first(Idled at like 1500), then dropped back. However, it is smoking REALLY REALLY bad!! I went to Rotary Performance in Manassas Va and talked w/ there mechanic to figure out what has happened...the final word...blew a coolant seal, and needs a rebuild
However, after speaking with the mechanic/racer I have decided to put a Jspec 89+ Turbo motor and tranny into my '88..he said it'd only be about $800 to $1000 labor to do it, which isn't bad. I would do it myself, but don't have time or work space, not to mention the whole winter thing is coming up! So I'll keep you posted on how it all goes down...
