Man, an RX-7 is so much more fun in the summer. It was always nice having a posy though, because you had that extra tire for traction. A little squirely, but the RX-7 seemed to always get me where I wanted to go. Anybody have any winter driving horror stories in their 7.

Wow, looks like my car, except I have FD rims for the moment, will switch back to gxl rims for the winter.

After 2 years with my car. I was driving, going around a curve when I lost all traction and fishtale, tryed to counter it but I over did it and fishtale the other way, Ended up hitting a parked car with my left front its rear bumper and then hitting the my rear 1/4 panel when it swung around to hit the front of the car. It was my first accident with my car.

I still have my car, is not the same but it was fixed.

Oh I forgot to say that it was freezing rain and I was going like 15mph with an open diff.

PS Open diff suck in the snow, when one wheel sinks, that is the wheel that spins and you are stuck. I upgraded my rear a few years later to a TII and never had any trouble getting stuck. Well unless there are feet of snow and bottoms out on it.

One time back in winter-o-'96 it was 12am and the freeway is free of traffic. The weather for the night was light rain and 40degrees. So here I am driving near 90 and came around a corner just fine, looked in the ditch on the outside corner were 4 cars went straight into ditch. At this point I tested the brakes, they locked up with virtually no press applied to the pedal! I'm amazed to this day I nogiatated the corner at that speed yet didn't lose control, yet locked the brakes up just checking how bad the roads were. Guess the weather man should of said freezing rain was expected farther north?

Luckily, I don't drive my TII in the snow...it's hard enough to control it in the rain.

it dropped a few inches up as a warning snow is coming type thing and i did not have my snow tires on yet, so i got stuck in a parking lot because i still had my bald *** nittos on the back, it was pretty funny when i had to call work and tell them i am stuck on a perfectly level parking lot be cause i drag radials on the back!

Well was my first winter with my seven and of course since i had never gotten a speeding ticket i was never one to obey the speed limit. it was January I think, and i was doing about 90m.p.h. at night on the freeway. Earlier I teseted to see how slippery it was and dropped it into fourth and hammered. I felt the rear end start to kick out so i stuck in the clutch. Well about 8 minutes later i came over a hill and to my dismay realized that 2 or 3 hundred feet in front of me ALL the lanes were at a dead stop. So, doing what i could i locked up the brakes and continued to slide towards the row of cars. when there was about 20 feet left i cranked on the wheel. and came to a stop about 5 feet from the car infront of me. PHEWW I said. then as I straightened out my car and got back in line with the cars who were filing into on lane i noticed why the cars had been stopped. A new say 99 style mustang was flipped on its side. The top was smashed in and about level with the hood of the car. I told myslef iwould never go faset again. But that never held. and later i got a speeding ticket for 18 over. and 6 months after that, another for 21 over

WTF? this is Seattle! It isn't supposed to snow! Took these pics today (11/28) around 3:30 pm. Normally it doesn't snow here untill after the new year, if at all.

This will be my second winter with this Rx. It did fine last year, I only went sideways once, and that was on a backroad w/ big BIG curves. Oh, and there was this one time when I wanted to turn left, but my RX decided straight was a better idea...I was only 5min from home so I turned around and got our Jeep, lol...
