Server Move 01/23/04
#1
OK, I waited up, new server isn't setup, prolly cause I was a pain in the *** and changed the config at the last minute LOL
It's 3am, gonna hit the sack, try to get a somewhat early start. Expect a little of downtime tomorrow, or more then likely, a few lost posts if I leave the forum online while I transfer the db and the sites. During that time, I will of course have my instant messenger off Please be patient, my intent, if I can configure the DNS on the old server the way I want to is to not be on the ip AT ALL. We'll stay on the domain, however this will cause us to not run at full efficiency for the first 2 to 3 days as long as things stay up at the old DC it won't be an issue really.
I'll keep you advised as to the status as things progress, thanks everyone for your support and patience. This move will be so worth it in the long run I don't know where to begin. Once moved, I will do an update to onpromedia.com which will include some virtual tours of the datacenter, webcam possibly and hopefully an MRTG graph so customers can view bandwidth bursts, etc....
Exciting stuff, empty pockets LOL
Thanks to everyone that kicked in a couple bucks, I appreciate the help although the other posts were not a press for money, just to keep you all up to date.
