Rx7 Revolution 2nd Gen Tech Events Announced
#1
This April 26th, 2nd Gen owners will have the opportunity to attend mini-tech sessions at the RX7 Revolution event. Three of these sessions will be handled by Aaron Cake from London, Ontario.
• TPS adjustment (the correct way)
• Driveshaft replacement
• Troubleshooting idle problems
All three sessions will be concluded with a brief question and answer session with Aaron.
Aaron Cake has been working on rotary vehicles since 1999. He currently owns a 1986 Mazda RX7 with an interesting twist. In December of 2001, Aaron began his longest and most ambitious project: turbocharging the N/A. The normal way to turbocharge the naturally aspirated RX-7 is to swap in the drivetrain from the turbo model. It is nearly a perfect bolt in, and can be done in a weekend if all the parts are on hand. However, this is not the path Aaron chose. Not only was it too normal and easy, but Aaron simply could not get all the parts together, and had no desire to take the entire drivetrain out of my car. Nor did he really have the space to do so. So the decision was made to turbocharge the existing non-turbo high compression engine. The project, that most said "could not be done", was completed in six months when I started the car on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Since then, the car has seen 10 pounds of boost on a nearly daily basis for the last few years.
The RX7 Revolution is the Midwest’s premiere rotary enthusiast event. Starting April 25th2003 hundreds of rotary powered vehicles will be converging on Indianapolis, IN for a weekend of drag racing, tech sessions from featured sponsors, and fellowship between rotary owners.
Located deep within the heartland of America, Indianapolis, offers the perfect location. Known as the Cross-roads of America and the United States Racing Capital, Indianapolis is adorned with beautiful highways leading directly into and around the city’s center. World renown for convenience, Indianapolis caters to automotive events. The Indianapolis 500, The Brickyard 400, and Formula One are all held in Indy. The setting for this event, Indianapolis Raceway Park, is the premier drag racing track in America and is home to the nation’s largest drag racing event, the NHRA Nationals.
