Do we really want a "top 50" site? Think about all that that may bring... I mean we already have Bigtime (just kidding man, you bring something different to the forum). Think about what may happen when every joe blow who has a PC has access because we are rated on a rating site. Every retard who couldn't get heard on RX7.com is going to sign on just to see whats happening and then all the great stuff that we have going on here is going to get watered down. Imagine trying to find information on a site that has 20k+ members, there may be lots of stuff, but trying to sift through it all would be a bitch. Maybe I'm being selfish, but what we have going on here seems to be more pure than all that! I mean, for real, I'm not even making a car that is "no pistons" but I log in here at least two, three, four times a day just to see whats going on. I think twin89stangs could back me up here. There is something really great and pure happening on this forum. Its all about "Hotrodding" and thats what I really love, not the commercialization. There are no popups, no banners, nothing like that to make me think that this site is trying to be pretentious about NOpistons.com. There are Admins and moderators who are active every day, not because they HAVE to, but because they WANT to. I may be jumping the gun here before anything happens but I would want to make sure this site stays just a little more "underground" than all that, just because right now its really a living thing. The post *****s keep this thing alive because it makes us happy to see other post *****s just like us commenting on what is happening by nothing more than our words. I don't even know any of you guys personally but I know who you are by what you post, and I understand a little bit about who that is by the few words that appear here.

really, all it boils down to is- dont sell out just for the sake of being a popular web-presence. **** all that... we have too much fun here for all that. I mean, I see Phinsup and Vosko and Iluvmy88cabriolet here almost anytime I log in, I don't want to see another 35 people logging on just to check it out. I want them to be here because they are going to contribute and have something to say(maybe thats why I dont mind Bigtime... once again I'm not cracking dude, you just are who you are, and you offer something to this forum)

But I'm not in charge and things happen as they will on the web, I just saw something... something... well something more for this forum.

Thanks for listening, if you did.

You raise some great points and we listen everything anyone has to say. The site's goal has always been a non-vendor drive forum for the members and has always valued member input. Will we ever make it to 20000 members? No, that's not necessarily the goal, however we would like to see a few more people around here that share the interests and fall into the same category as our current members. I think you'll pretty much know what the scoop is on this board your first visit, by reading the posts, talking to our mods and admins, etc... We're pretty good about weeding out the retards too :wow:

The boards goals will always be the same, even if we grow a little, I think you'll find the same type of people, just a few more. You'll never see pop-ups or anything along that line, I think everyone here knows I'm not in this for any money... if I am then I am doing something seriously wrong.

So don't worry we'll always know the people who are hanging out and posting around here as well as we do now... that's the best part of being here. And we're not "selling out", we're not the one size fits all RX-7 forum, but the people who are here are pretty dedicated to the board and it's progress.

So i have no idea what the hell I just said because I have been drinking beer since 4, but if it made since then great, if not I will just ramble for another 5 minutes so you get so bored reading the post you will just assume I am agreeing with you.

Umm, what were the questions.

1. Will being in the top100 make the board a hurricane ridden cespool? No we have been in the top 10 for months so don't sweat that!

2. Will I always be online and the rest of the mods? Yup, especially myself I can guarantee that.

3. Will Bigtime ever learned how to spelled? No, sorry just something you have to live with.

4. Will we have have pop-ups or try to use this forum to sell you thousands of dollars worth of RX-7 parts? No, we will probably have some t-shirts and key chains and stuff like that so you can show your "nopistons.com" pride, but that's about it.

5. Did I drink too much beer for a Friday night which caused to ramble jibberish in this post? Yes

6. Are we doing some advertising and trying to expand? Yes, we're trying to get a little better, get a few more members and most of all let people know that if they need some help or just want to hang out with bunch of car nuts (yes, I said nuts) this is a great place to be.

So I hope that bent the nail over and burried it into the wood so no one will notice. (what the hell was that all about) Anyhow this will always be a cool place to hang out so don't give up on us. And anyone who signs up and is a dick vosko sends them a bad of dog crap on his FedEx account and they never come back (we make him do it cause he invites all the rif-raf J/K)

If i had time I would proof read this reply, but my glass appears to be empty... or not full if you are an optimist.

Damn. Writing a novel? lol! You did make some real good points, but this place could really use some new faces, and new posts, new ideas, new opinions, ect. So I think that adding a few members wouldn't hurt one bit. But I don't want to become like rx7forum. It's hard to even follow a thread there because so many people are posting, and your thread gets lost in the shuffle.

Hi all, wooffinn from downunder. hey kinetikrx and phinsup, great ideas indeed. From my experience in Australia with similar forums you're definately right about the 'commercialization' factor. A number of them here have gone that road and failed/closed down. Man you guys must have great '********' radars because unfortunately that's a major problem here and I've got to the stage where I just email friends I've met on forums rather than log on.

But hey definately go after so new members, it makes it more fun for everyone. Your forum has gone to number one on our list in our car club here(a great honour I can tell you!!, and I'm certainly trying to get everyone onboard.

Keep up the good work. Its' certainly refreshing

Phinsup wasn't the only one drinking too much beer last night I think I had just gone through a twelve pack when that rant went out. I hoped that I would make my point without sounding like a whiney bastard. After re-reading it this morning I think I made all the points that I set out to make when I started. I'm glad that others out there share some of my opinions.

Of course opinions are like ********, we've all got them and most of them stink.
