That would be true for some prefessions, but some really do require the extra schooling and practice. I don't know about you, but I feel better knowing that the engineers who designed the plane I'm flying in had to go through alot of school to prove what they know. Most high-level jobs don't even want to bother with people without a certain levgel of education. I know somebody who actually had to go through a 5 day 20+ hour interview in which they tried to be sure he knew everything he said he did. Studying for a test is different from actually "knowing" the subject. Look at the SAT's. If one person used "tricks" to get a 1500 and the other got a 1500 without them. Who do you think knows the material better?

Well then you simply remake the test every year so that no "tricks" can be used. Let's say you pay 5-10 engineers to design an exam that will make sure that the students won't be able to bluff their way through it. Pay these guys $500,000 a year to do this job, look at the pass fail rates and have people evaluate the exams that they are giving. You could even turn the exam making into a fairly prestigious job. All without the necessity of a university. But, you can still have one if people feel they need to be taught a subject. My issue is that in order for me to get a job I HAVE to have a degree. What I want is to be able to get some sort of ceritification without having to waste 4 years of my life and sixty thousand dollars.
There's no chance of that ever happening. Everybody else has to go through the same crap that you do because that's just the way it works. I wish I didn't have to do ALL of the things I did but I realize that most of them were helpful. I didn't want to take philosophy and history classes, but I did. Some things may seem useless in the present. One of the important things I took from school was not just knowing something, but "learning to both think about it and understand it." That's the hard part.

Was 2 years of training or 3 ojt. The school is a fuggin joke, just basically trains you to take the test and gets your hours in.

The class that I graduated from about 50% of them became auto mechanics. I had worked in on heavy A/C for about 2.5 years full time job full time school, they would have given me $1.00 more for my licenses LOL so I said **** it, did auto mechanic for a year and said **** that time to go back to tech job.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I remember a long time ago when I was in school I applied for a job to change oil. They turned me down.HAHA https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I used to love to fly, then I worked on commercial aircraft and now I fuggin hate to fly. I saw things take place that I still can't believe.

Yeah, I knew a guy who used to fix parts for airlines. He was a moron, but he passed his test. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

It doesn't take that much and if you are a Licensed Repair Station you don't have to have anymore than 100 licensed mechanic. All the rest of the people can be picked up off the street.

He actually worked for the airline. When I met him I was working with him and he was driving a truck. He wasn't very good at that either.

i used to work with a guy who was intermittantly dumb. most of the time he was average, but sometimes he would do stuff so stupid it makes you wonder how he know to breathe

So what your saying is that I have to put up with this crap just because that's the way it is? I'm sure that the founders of this country thought the same thing when england was screwing them in the ass. Just because things are fucked up and it seems like they can't change is no reason to ignore what's wrong with the system. If enough people end up realizing that something is wrong that's when you have a change. But I assume that you wouldn't want it to be improved since you make your living off of taking advantage of this money scam. I also think that if a system like mine was in place, companies would favor someone who could simply learn on their own and apply that information in a challenging standardized exam than someone who was forced to sit down and do homework in this archaic system of extortion, lies, and utter bullshit.
