I pay my taxes, I vote, would be better to blame the voting public that put them in power then blame government itself.
Things are changing on the OS battlefield..... you wouldn't see MS diversifying so much if they didn't know it, but once you adopt a successful business model you are pretty foolish to abandon until absolutely necessary. Bingo. I dunno if Microsoft will be around in 5-10 years in all honesty, they've done fairly good at changing in the past but the company is so freaking huge it's hard to move it around.
they need a sign that says "not microsoft" mike
Hey you never replied to my question in the mod forum.....
sorry, i didnt see it mike |
Wow, this really turned into an interesting discussion.
One of the main purposes of a college education is diverse learning. If you read The Two Cultures by C.P. Snow you'll see the age old issue of intellectuals and scientists not understanding each other. That's what universities try to avoid, by having people in every major take classes from both sides. If you just had to pass a test that's related to your field, then you wouldn't learn all of that other stuff. Maybe you don't want to know more than what's necessary, but it certainly isn't hurting society by teaching students more than their major. On the other hand, I did get my job by proving that I could learn on my own, so I guess I can't complain. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |

Yeah, there's always that. The less I am truly interested in a subject, the less I retain. There has been a few classes that I was forced to take that really interested me, though. I guess it's a trade off.
