Ahhhh the old razor blade ****** routine. I used to date a chick that had her unmentionables pierced, it was kinda nice cause she was "ready" all the time. Maybe not mentally but definately physically!

[quote name='phinsup' date='Mar 17 2005, 05:19 AM']Sea Salt!!!
Best bet is some of the spray benzocain or wutever it's called, can't remember, it's an anit septic with pain killer.
My ears would infected off and on for years, my mother in law picked me up some titanium ear rings and I havent had a problem since. That could possible be her problem as well, some metals the body doesn't like. Whatever she does, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT. Right now the jewelry allows it to drain and you to access it with various anti-bacterial solutions, you take that out and it can get gangrenous.

very good advice, most pierceing place's will reccomend sea salt rinse's daily for most new pierceings, they did for my tounge, i never used it but that's what they reccomended

ill tell you something from exp. ive had my septum peirced for the last 8 years, and the worst thing you could do is wash it to much. the last thing you want to do it wash away the scabbing INSIDE. getting your septum done is very dangerous, especially if it gets infected. tell her to wash it ONCE or TWICE a day WHEN she is in the shower, and to NOT touch it(without clean, clean hands) for atleast 2 months. i cannot stress that enough. seriously, if her septum gets infected, it can cause serious problems. if it doesnt start feeling better after about 6 weeks(providing she doesnt touch it too much, OR **** with it), use hiboclinz(i dont know how to spell it, just ask your local grocery store where it is, is VERY good ****) and have her clean the ring with a q-tip around the crusty edges very gently and she will be all good. once again man, tell her NOT too clean it too much. once or twice a day is fine.
just for some reference, ive got my septum, my labret, and an industrial done, and nothing was harder to heal then my septum.
