who here has em and knows about em? hehe my wife got her septum pierced sunday and today it looks infected, she has the typical signs , pain, redness, pus... you know hehe well i was wondering if it could be from over cleaning, the gross water in our apartment or something else? shes been using antibacterial soap to clean it and rinsing very well but i think the water is gross haha she has been cleaning about 8 times a day and recently cut down to 4 times a day like the piercer suggested... anyways what can i do to help stop the infection and what can she do to keep it clean ( i sugested using bottled water instead of our nasty water hehe)

Ok I have been pierced alot, i have always wanted my septum done, but I think Im a little to grown up and dont really want it anymore, but anyways, Ive had infected piercings alot, so just clean it with hydrogen peroxide, dont use anti bactirial saop, it will dry it out and make it more painful, use peroxide and then try and sqeeze some neosporine(sp?) in there, it will be better in a couple days.

Sea Salt!!!

Best bet is some of the spray benzocain or wutever it's called, can't remember, it's an anit septic with pain killer.

My ears would infected off and on for years, my mother in law picked me up some titanium ear rings and I havent had a problem since. That could possible be her problem as well, some metals the body doesn't like. Whatever she does, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT. Right now the jewelry allows it to drain and you to access it with various anti-bacterial solutions, you take that out and it can get gangrenous.

Nothing more attractive than walking into a restauraunt and having a waiter/waitress with a drawer full of silverware embedded in their skull; come over and take your order
