i dont see whats wrong with having a salvage title, if a car is a police recovery, or auctioned at a police auction it has a salvage title.

$10 says that car is relisted.

Or the next highest bidder gets a email from the seller saying the other guy happened to back out.

Ironic that the FD is worth so much when they're known as one of the most tempermental cars ever produced. Guys like us don't mind taking care of our cars, but..yeah out there, it's a symphony of belts whining, brakes squeeling, clutches burning, heads steaming burnt oil.. :/

I'm very skeptical about buying FD's let alone one on ebay.

people don't like to buy salvage title for many reasons, A) generally the car is worth significantly less, and the reason why its worth less and people don't want it is the same reason people don't want a car that has been wrecked and repaired. A car is never the same after it has been in a big wreck (enough to get a salvage title) There always tends to be a lot of things that aren't quite right. Frame could be slightly bent. Suspension geometry could be slightly off, VIN #'s from differnet pieces might not match up. In the case of an engine fire there may be many pieces that weren't replaced or were replaced with junkyard parts in questionable shape and could result in a problem area much sooner than a stock part. You never really know how many miles are on the car because once it is salvage, generally that isn't worried about. I personally would never buy a salvage title car unless i was gonna build up a project race car, but thats just me i guess.

To give you an idea what a salvage title SHOULD do to an asking price check out the thread on the communist forum for the salvage single turbo that the guy was gonna sell for like 8k but ended up getting like 10k for.
