Sprint and Nextel are merging. They're going to call the new company Sprint Nextel, or as we at work call it, sprextel. Nextel is also CDMA. iDen is a model of phone, not a network type. GSM is the oldest true digital cell network. Best rate plan is Sprints Fair and Flexible. 35 dollars a month=300 minutes. Over 300 minutes, they charge you $5 and sell you blocks of 100 minutes. However, everything internet-wise on Sprints network is asp based. That means everything you do on the internet is a application you must log into. Most of the time, its fine, but there are login errors that just seem to come up from nowhere. Also, sprint has so many flippin passwords for everything, its ridiculous. Account password, email password, vision password, pictures password, game lobby password...see what I mean? Cingular has one of the best call center hours in the industry: 24-7. They dont advertise their overnight department, but I can assure you they're there. They come in handy when you get off at 2am...

sprints coverage map is a god damn joke. Only place you get sprints coverage is in the dark green. Notice how they hide the roaming charges in light green so you cant tell how shitty their actual network is ? Oh any logging on to get your text messages is cool too HAHAH **** that ****. [attachment=29493:attachment]
and look at nextels maps, wow great coverage ? http://www.nextel.com/services/coverage/index.shtml cingular pwns all of those shitty garbage services. you pay for what you get [attachment=29494:attachment] |

ITs all AT&T and Bell I heard MCI rents the AT&T lines for there services WHo uses MCI anymore they SUCK. |
I use Alltel and have been happy with them, but I'm not exactly a "power user" when it comes to cell phones. 99% of all my calls are in a 40-mile radius of my house, so I could care about coverage. They give me free long distance and 100 anytime minutes and 300 night/weekend minutes for $19.95. My phone is an antique with a monochrome display and I can't surf the web or play stinkin' games but that's fine with me. I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay 50 bucks a month for a friggin' cellphone. You bet your ass I'm cheap!

actually.. cingular and at&t have been sharing the same towers for years.. so all this **** about one buying the other one out doesn't change anything.. its still shitty service in a lot of places.
i had cingular for two years.. nothing but problems and dead spots all over the state.. got verizon, and i have been on it now for 3 years.. its great. the only time i have lost a call is when my battery died, or i was talking to a friend on nextel. the two year contract doesn't bother me since i live with my friends and we dont have a house line, and i always plan on keeping a cell. |
