Ok here we go, I solve a lot of my own problems but this one I can't.

ok the basics. win Xp pro, netgear router, cable modem.

the problem.

I will be surfing the net and all of a sudden I cant view any web pages, my aim still works fine, and so does NOPISTONS forum, but any and every other web site will not load. I get the "cannot display page" ****.

If I go into my network connections and click repair. It tells me "cannot flush ARP cache" It's doing it right now, this is the only site I can access. If I walk away for 10 min it's fine again, I don't need to reboot, reset router or modem. It just starts working again. Sometimes it will happen every few hours, sometimes every few days??

ANY IDEAS??????

you're not alone - I get that at home on my XP machine, using a LinkSys router and a cable modem. I always assumed it was the modem...

Describe your software setup, as in how your connection is setup through Internet Explorer. I might be able to help you then.

connection 2 is my PC, connection 1 is a usb adaptor to another computer, and the bridge is what XP made on it's own when I installed XP.

I had this problem with win98 or win95 (forgot which). I couldn't figure it out either (I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff). It didn't go away until I reformatted the harddrive and reinstalled windows. I figured it was a virus or something.

So what's the problem? AIM still works and you can get Nopistons......

Sounds too me like your ISP, the reason that Nopistons.com works is because your system has already resolved the hostname to the ip, AIM doesn't use namerservers. Sounds to me like their name servers are either constantly going down and being rebooted or they just suck.
