you guys are all burnt! ED get an Ovation!!!! You won't be sorry. The round back ovations are some of the best sounding acoustics out there. I know the price is high, but even the lowest priced ones still sound sweet. I have an Ovation acoustic electric. It's the only one I've kept(sold off 5 others). It retails for only around $500.

I have an Ovation acoustic/electric. It's nice. But the roundbacks don't produce the sound a good ol fashioned acoustic does. I have 2 Yamaha 6-string acoustics. By far, one of THE BEST guitars for a reasonable price. You can get them used at a music shop for a hundred bucks or so. After all, you wanna learn.... No need to get an expensive guitar if you come to find out you dont even enjoy playing that much... Learn your chords on a less expensive guitar... When you pick up an Ovation... You'll friggin fly. The necks are much smaller and smoother... easier to play. Aw ****... Is it post pics of your studio setup time?

I was just looking at a Yamaha before I came back on here. RD has several guitars, as does 1revin7 and my roommate-to-be Justin, so I'll have one of them go shopping with me sometime next week.

i think for starting out, any of the inexpensive ones mentioned above will work well...as long as you don't get those $40 ones like my brother which he tuned, hit one chord and it was out of tune again, LOL.
