Migraine
#3
I've been having migraines for about 2 months or so now. I actually went to a doctor because the pain was making me nauseous and dizzy and sensitive to light and noise, I couldn't get my work done. The doctor prescribed me Relpax. It works wonders but its soooo expensive and my insurance wouldn't cover it. Its like $160 for 8 pills and I took my last one last night. I had to ration them out for the really bad migraines and now they are all gone.
You might want to try Excedrine Migraine, I found that is the best over the counter medicine for the pain. Hope the migraine goes away soon.

I rarely get them anymore, but I started getting them in HS and would get several per year. They would always started with visual distortion and "auras", progress to intense pain, and end with nausea and vomiting. They were pretty much all-day events.
I have tried some prescription meds, but have gotten adequate relief from Excedrin Migraine. With these monsters, prevention is definitely your goal. Try to indentify triggers. For me, it was caffeine, sleep deprivation, and stress. Probably nothing has been as effective at prevention as carefully controlling the amount of caffeine I consume in a day. It needs to be a constant amount.

Read the ingredients on the OTC migraine bottles. Mostly aspirin and caffeine. I get migraines regularly, but no visual auras. Nausea often, rarely vomitting (sometimes diahrrea). Extreme sensitivity to light and sound. I sometimes get a little dizzy, like I've been on a boat all day. I've gone home from work maybe at least once a month, because I forget all the pills at home.
Besides prevention, the best thing for me is SLEEP. If you don't plan on doing anything, take something to knock you out (benadryl, nyquil, whatever). This does not work for sinus-headache-migraines, not for me anyway. For these you need to decongest first, then deal with the pain.
