I would have to go with the east being the best drinkers. Not only cause I am from the east coast but I witnessed a couple thousand drunks walking the streets last night in my city alone. St. Patty's Day Parade Day the bigest drinking day of the year, LOL Scranton is full of drunks.

I'm Irish if that counts for anything - except I don't drink, but I am definitely an exception. Last year in college there were a couple of hardcore alcaholics in my course. The funniest was when we were watching Ireland getting to the 1/4 finals in the World Cup - 1 gigantic 3 litre bottle of cheap cider each half 
, and that was just warming up for the evening, - one guy in particular went on to drink 16 pints of stout IIRC. They were forcing themselves to get sick just so they could phisically keep on drinking - funny stuff, especially to watch .
