Thumbs up

Well i am having a little prob while launching my car and i wanted to know what you guy's think i should do about it. i am putting about 400-450 Hp to the wheels at 15 PSI i have 17X7's with KumHo tires. When i launch at 5500 RPM i am getting mad wheel hop. But when i launched at 6500 RPM i broke my tires loose and put 15 feet of nice black strips down. So what should i do to fix my launch? 1 change my launch RPM or style and 2 Mods to the car such as i was looking at Volk 17x10 wheels for the back and a better tire. would that help and any other suggestions would be a great help.

Here we go, almost the same topic, but regarding wheel hop.

I don't wanna be difficult so here are my suggestions again LOL, either break the wheels loose, or slip the clutch.

Right, but you said you had problems with wheel hop, and in that thread we gave you suggestions on HOW TO LAUNCH with out producing wheel hop. Get my point?

I agree with you Martin, he should have 10's in the back. Problem is, even with wider wheels, he wont be able to reduce wheel hop, I think it'll make it worse as the tires will have more patch to grab the ground with making his probles two-fold. Godspell, you need suspension work, and a strong clutch, then you'll be set.

i know i know, i want 17X10's but they cost liek 2200 for the set of 2 17X10's and 2 17X8.5 and i dont have 2200 just sitting around. The car only had about 285 Hp when i got it. It wasent tuned well at all and a lot of probs after fixing the probs and doing some upgrades Fuel pump, Vac lines, Power FC it got up there fast and i dont have any money left for wheels if i coudl get a good deal i woudl grab em. Any one know where i can get a good deal on Volks?

Hmm, try e-bay. I wouldn't be sold on the Volks that quickly since you need wider wheels right away, get something cheaper if you can't afford the Volks therewith saving you some serious money on those 15 foot burn marks.
