Personally I think unmarked cars are horseshit. If the police is there to help us, then we should be able to unmistakably identify their car when needed.

If that ******* was sitting at a light and I had someone in the back seat with a gun to my head I would drive right by him, or say I had someone in the car with a medical emergency.

Washington back in the 80's had what they called the "Orange Patrol" cars were painted bright orange for that exact reason. It must have cut into the ticket funds with people being able to see them.

EXACTLY phins. YOu hit the nail on the hard. Part of being a police car is the presence they have.

Theres a new thing out too, *57(or *59 something along those lines) that dials the popo station and can confirm if its a real cop or not...If they are unmarked, you dont have to stop...

Recently, there was a girl that got raped because she stopped for an unmarked car, so FHP started the *57 thing..

Yea a funny example of that was when I was in Boulder City, Nevada, they had a patrol car on the main drag with two dummy's in it. But it kept the tourists from speeding through their small town without having to hire extra officers to give out more tickets to justify hiring more officers, to give out more tickets, to justify more..... well you get the point.

Did the cop write her a ticket when he was finished or did he let her off?

on a side note, I found a pic of what our traffic cops drive:

I was a next-door neighbor to the second-in-command of the bike unit. These BMWs are badass! (because of him, I've been pulled over twice, but with no tickets )

Damn, everyone told me that the undercover cops up here were crazy but I never realized it was THAT bad. Down south they have better things to do then worry about getting fancy undercover cars. Up here there's no crime so they have nothing better to do then try and be slick. A Rousch Mustang? Christ... Maybe that silver Z06 was a cop? rofl... From now I'll ask them for proper identification before the race.

Btw, if the cop revs on you to ensue a race, it is entrapment.

From now on I roll down my windows. I will indicate to the other car to do the same. If he does not then I am no longer in the mood to race him.

I will rev my engine and sit there at the light when its green.

several years ago like mid 90's the cops were using confiscated imports and what not to try and catch racers...but this being a small town and we do get many guys from the bay and Sac. many cars are well known..they stopped after they got caught trying to bust racers by setting up races then busting them at the start.

the story was...the cops had a "at the time" a nice honda. they tried to get this guy to race them so they could bust him..He agreed to race little did the cops know there was and out of town visiter that recognized the car. It was conficated off a mexican kid that his friend knew. Being the nice guy he was, he told the guy that was about to race that he knew that car and it was conficated.. So he just put 2 and 2 togather...He pulled up to the cop and they both rev...right before they take off the driver says really loud..."Yeah right...like I'm gonna race an undercover cop. you must think I stupid"

Now that IS entrapment, but the RPD think that they can do whatever they want..hell my friend and I got wind that they were going to set up a sting at one of the race spots. We went to a few and sure enough they were there scoping the best place to set up video equip and place cars ...about 5 of them in an un marked suv. I pulled up next to them and made a phone call that started with "YUP we found where the cops are setting up, they are in a silver suv.." at that point they got pissed off.
