img should work, the angle is more severe if you see it from the side.

that seems like it would free up some floor space, but I like to rest my hand on shifter while commuting. My arm would get tired that high.

Seems innovative, but I'd rather get the auto.

exactly the way you have to rest your arm it fatigues quickly cause you cant like rest it on the console or anything, your elbow just sorta swings freely. also the way it actually shifts makes how you have to grip it feel weird, thats why my hand slid off when i went to knock it into a higher gear and i hit the dash instead (after my hand slid off).

i guess if i HAD to i could get used to...but i wouldnt enjoy it.

if it was the click type, like on rally cars, I guess it would be easy. but if I'd have to actually move it in an H pattern, that would suck. The click type would be easy enough to just reach up and yank or push.

here i'll quote it for you:

"...and my hand just skimmed the top of the shifter and i punched the dash instead..."

and now from my other post:

"...hand falls off the shifter..."

hmmmm to me those are the same phrases simply reworded... imagine that i know what I was saying, amazing.
In order for your hand to skim the top of the shifter and hit the dash, it has to be off of the shifter. In order for your hand to fall off of the shifter, it has to be on the shifter. These are conflicting situations. I really can't break it down any further without construction paper and crayons to draw diagrams for you.

so when you have your hand on the shifter it is constantly in a grasping state? i dont know about you but i like to let my fingers stretch out every now and then and "palm" the shifter.

now i can get down to ASCII drawings but i believe they may be too complicated for you.

i would like mods to notice ive requested this be brought to PM multiple times and will do so again, i am now simply defending myself.

so please if you care to carry on this petty argument PM me, we can discuss in detail, hell i'll take pictures.

i dunno i think punching the dash would be a good thing, its more fun than drag racing a 17second car

The mods I've discussed this with don't mind this argument. What's the worst that could happen, we could "ruin" a perfectly good Honda bashing thread by arguing about the design of a Honda shifter? This is the most on-topic argument I've ever had.

No, my hand is not constantly in a grasping state when it's on the shifter, but you can bet your *** that my grip gets tight when it's time to "bang gears". What point are you trying to make here? Your argument is getting weaker and weaker, and you're going from contradicting yourself to asking stupid rhetorical questions. Throw in the carbon copy of my insults and you're good to go.

I agree that while cruising, this is a bad place for the shifter, but during hard cornering (notice that's what I was talking about when commenting on the location of the shifter, and then the topic turned to drag racing) it's best to have the shifter close to the steering wheel.
