I watched a new episode of American Chopper last night. I have watched this show since it was first run and it is interesting to see the evolution of that company. When they first started the show they had 3 or 4 employees and a small shop. Big Paul drove an expedition with a broken front bumper that he ripped off in an episode etc....

Last nights new episode....they made a point at the beginning to show how they have grown. 20 employees now, they have hired a director of operations, Big Paul drives an H2 now. That show has been the best advertisement for them. I wonder how they got the gig in the first place.

Maybe I ought to start a reality show based on my dental practice....hmmmmmmm.....

That show has laid Monster Garage in the weeds, I'm sure OCC puckers up and kisses the asses of the Discovery channel ppl on a regular basis, talk about a slingshot into the big time!

i like occ's idea's but there not really fabricators like my cousin said there mostly bike builder's where as jessie james is a fabricator because he makes everypart in house from frames , wheels , aircleaners , etc but if i wanted a bike 2 be built i'd go with billy lane from choppers inc has anyone seen that hubless wheel he got made man i just think that's awsome no one's ever done that before but him

i love the work Billy Lane does, I also like the sleek , modern look of Bourgeot (Spelling??). He has the oil running through the frame for cooling.

The old school style of Indian Larry is alos quite appealing.

But you are right, OCC orders special stuff in and does not do much fabricating at all. I think it was the Liberty bike that they made the tank from scratch but other than that they just add stuff to stck tanks and parts.

Someone has done that before, but I think I read that the hubless design is inherently flawed. I'll see if I can find that again, but I think it has something to do with bearings. But his bikes do kick ***.
