Talk about a hell of a day. So I'm at the airport doing my usual thing...sitting around. Just happened to be walking from our hanger to where my couch is, and I looked at a plane making an approach. It really caught my attention because it was coming in so high, fast, and pitched way down. So I watch him nose it in, and bounce pretty bad, and then keep trucking down the runway as though everything was fine. At first I thought wow maybe he didn't damage the plane, but I was wrong. Shortly after slamming into the runway his nose wheel fell off and he flipped it end over end. Shortly before it made its flip, the prop began striking the runway obviously, and all sorts of unusual sounds were coming from the engine in his attempt to power up and take off again. He walked away uninjured, and I spent 3 hours trying to get it flipped back over to haul it back to our hanger.

I didn't have my camera with me today, because I was still very drunk at 3pm this afternoon and had to be driven to work....so I will try to get some pics from other people at the scene.

Wow, and that's not the first time you've posted about close ones in aeroplanes by any means!

Oh yeah, and hats off to doing the responsible thing by getting a lift in to work - but doesn't your work consist of flying planes?

Correct. Might even see me on there too, I dunno. I'm suppose to write a brief descriptive letter of what I saw. Today I got to hear all sorts of versions of what happened, I just kinda sat back quiet and listened to the BS some people thought happened.

SCREW russian vodka and jamaican rum! And first thing I saw in my fridge last night was the exact same orange juice...made me feel icky to look at it.

I guess that means you won't be having any orange juice and vodka or rum shots after the BBQ on the 24th. Damn!
