So I have a friend who order a Greddy FMIC from Steve for his Civic hatchback. Well Steve called me earlier last week to let me know that it was in. I told him that we would be there on Saturday to pick it up. So we make the 2 hour drive to Fort Worth from Abilene on Saturday morning. We get up there and Steve is like would you help me pull this motor while you're here. I was like hell yeah. The whole time we're pulling the motor I'm like I can't believe I'm turning wrenchs with Steve Kan. I was like playing baseball with Mickey Mantle. When we get done Steve asks when we plan on leaving. I tell him somewhere around 8pm so that we can get back at a decent hour. He then asks if we would like to stay and go to rhe races. I'm like hell yeah. Then I'm like don't leave me in the dust when you guys race(don't want to get lost). So after BSing for a while we take and have some dinner then go to the local hangout by Steve's house. We see some sweet cars( supercharged cobra, turbo civics, couple of 7s, and some other V8s). So Steve's like lets go see some real cars and I'm like hell yeah. We hop on the highway and Steve leads me into downtown Dallas. On the way out I decided to try and race Steve. I get next him doing about 60 mph in 3rd and he nods his head and we go. Instantly I pull away and I never saw Steve again (except in my review). After that we give it another try and get the same results. In Steve's defense he was driving his mostly stock 93 CYM. Also he was only running 4 psi on the first run and 6 psi on the second run( normally runs 6psi due to some porting on the motor) and I was running 10 psi the whole time. Steve was also having problems with his computer( causing the car to have a miss when doing top end runs). The cool part was that I was throwing flames the whole time(just about every shift). I even threw one right next to Steve's door. It was about a foot long and bright blue. My buddy(was riding with Steve) and Steve were like that was sweet. We finally get to the other location and there aren't alot of cars but the ones that are there are pushing some serious power. There was a viper, three Supra's pushing close to 700whp, a couple fd's, 3 or 4 fc's, a skyline, and a turbo GS 300 Lexus. All the cars were sweet. I swear I had a hard on the whole time. After checking out everyone's cars and BSing for an hour or so they decided to race. I was feeling like I was in one of those videos on that Chris Turner site. Here we were on the freeway doing runs at will. It was just the sweetest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to do it again. I just want to thank Steve for the great time. Oh and btw Gotham racing does a great job with getting you your parts cheap and quick.
