Yo this is Tony, 85 GS 12a. I'm the one with the frustrating problems lol. I blew the first engine about 3 months ago, because the *** I bought the car from put a Catco converter on and it melted blocking my exaust. So I bought a rebuilt 12a and took 3 days to install the engine slowly and correctly just to have the transmission go bad on me 2 weeks later. I bought a used transmission with 40000 miles on it and installed that also. A month and a half later I blew the rebuilt engine. I was thinking about selling it but I really didn't want to. I like rotary too much. So I'm going to fix the engine clean up the interior and start driving my rotary rocket again. I'll post more later.
Peace
Peace

The Mechanic that works on my TII is a 1st gen expert. He has a IT spec 7 for road racing. It has raced in Sebring and all over the southeast. He really knows his **** about the 1st gens and has done some crazy stuff to them to squeeze every last horsey out.
He has some sick project cars he is working on. If you need any parts he has tons. He does a lot of custom fabrications from roll cages to engine intake porting to carb mods.
Here is his phone # 772-343-0510 he is in Port St Lucie Florida. His company is called Just Racing Fabrications.
Here is a pic of a 1st gen widebody he is building up. He was going to put a 13B series 5 in it but we talked him into putting a series 5 j-spec turbo engine in instead.

I've a 1st gen, but it's a GSL-Se with the factory 13B. Mods so far include complete RB exhaust (header, presilencer, powerpulse muffler), RB enhanced & adjustable swaybars, poly bushings, and K&N intake filter. Other than that, sh'es so stock she still uses the factory battery to start.
Possibly a different league than what you guys are discussing, as mine's a daily driver not a hardcore racer, but a 1st gen nonetheless
