I used to be a huge fan of Harleys. My dad built a 55 K-Frame with knuckle heads, chopped, raked, fully custom. It was a bad *** ride. My dad, at the time was also a bad *** dealing drugs getting ito fights with anyone who even looked sideways at him etc.. He even got into it with some of the local Long Island Pagans and had to "pay them off" with a nickle bag so they would get off his back.

What has happened over the last 25 years?

Riding a harly is the equivalent of being a homo now. Every Doctor, Lawyer, Stock broker, Accountant and generally rich **** have gone out and bought themselves a 30K bike to ride in their little holloween motorcycle gangs basically irritating everyone else on the road.

Import cars get pulled over for loud exhaust but not Harleys? They dart thought traffic, ride in your blind spot like IDIOTS and cut you off.

I would own a crotch rocket any day over a Harley and that is a total 180 for me because like I said, I WAS a huge Harley fan.

To make my point some Village People pictures. Does this guy look like your neighbor as he is about to go ride with his "gang"??

Yep, pretty much. And what's worse is the guys with import cruisers that TRY to make them look and sound like Harleys, rather than letting it be a nice reliable bike.

Their boots are shiny and scuffless, they're inexperienced at riding because they only do it once a month on empty roads, and they think they're better than any other biker on the road. We call them RUBs, Rich Urban Bikers.

I've gone to the weekly "bike night" at Hooters a couple times with my dad. We show up on our Honda cruisers in t-shirts and jeans, and end up making fun of all the RUBs with their leather Village People costumes.

I like BMW bike owners, they're so hard-core. Their bikes usually look well-worn, nothing is just for show, and the bikes kick *** without the rider having to brag about it.

That's been my experience anyway.

LOL!! Yeah but do you get together with your "biker gang" of doctors and lawyers every Thursday night and cruise in a menacing style to the local biker meet while waering your lethers and cut off denim vest that you had your wife wash 50 times so it would look worn in??

There is an Import meet every Thursday night here. When there was a bunch of Rotorheads around we would meet up at a different location one Thursday every other month or so and cruise in together. We would park over to the side walk around and see if there was anything interesting to look at. Then we would get back in our cars after about 15-20 minutes and head for the interstate for some spirited driving. Then head home.

I cannot understand how people can go to meets EVERY Thursday night wekk after week. ITS BORING!!

Same goes for bikers. Howm many times can you look at the same bikes over and over. If I want to hang out with my friends I will hang out with them. I dont need to go to some meet with 200 other bikers dressed like its holloween to make me feel cool.

I guess I just dont understand. Especially with cars I prefer to drive them than look at them.

my buddy's uncle keeps his harley in a bubble thing in the garage....so it doesn't get dust on it. EVERY GOD DAMNED thing he owns has a HD logo on it. We live about 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach SC.... he takes it to biker weekend there in a ****** enclosed trailer instead of riding it.

It's a status thing.... he also has a BIG *** boat that has 4 hours of usage in the past 3 years... but he won't sell it because (and i qoute) "I don't wanna sell it cause i look wealthier since i bought it."

no I have been on one poker run and I also have hold car shows with the same ******* cars on Saturday night (remember me posting the burn out pad earlier this year).

Besides I understand what you mean.

But then again auto crossing doesnt make you a race car driver which I see you post up and show a lot. Wow all day watch the same sad old ***** drive their **** at 45 MPH around some cones in a parking lot by them selves for a total time of one minute.Wow.

I just didnt think class envy justifies busting on others.

Oh by the way you Im ranting cause you insulted my manhood...biotch

hahahaha

No actually I only do 2 SCCA events a year so I can keep my Mazdaspeed sponsorship alive. I am totally bored with Autocross and agree with you 110% its stupid to run through cones at 45MPH there is no real challange to it. And its NOT 1 minute its more like 40 seconds. Once I had developed an understanding of car control and dynamics I started loosing interest fast. I just commented to Phinsup and Mazdadrifter that we should go do some open track days.

I ran the Bay bottom crawl this past October and that had speeds in excess of 130 on a 24' wide road lined with mangroves with water 20' beyond that. That was the most insane thing I have ever done with my car and I am addicted and will attend every year. Open track has nothing on this.

I wanted to attend a Panoz 3 day school in October but due to the beating 2 hurricanes did to me I have to put if off a year. Then I am SCCA licensed for road course.

Then its off to some "real" races which, like Autocross, I willl tire of and not attend due to all the loosers and morons that gather at such events.
