For any of you guys that read "Guns Magazine" check out page 6, an aritcle called "Dateline Iraq". Its written by one of my guys and pokes fun at all the arm-chair soldiers there seem to be these days.

Well, I don't read that mag, but I'll sound off in support of guns. Use 'em or lose 'em and all that.

Here's what i think of guns:

Carry a gun, shoot skeet.

Carry a gun, hunt animals (for sport for food, whatever)

Carry a gun that isnt for those reasons it should be banned. Anything that is absolute overkill for what you are using it for should not be allowed. Any type of high-powered automatic or subautomatic rifle should be banned. Theres no reason for them and they are not designed for the above reasons. They are WAR weapons. They should not be in our homes. Anyone who carries a WAR weapon should be fighting a war or training for said war and not firing off rounds in his backyard while sitting in his wave pool drinking a budweiser.

Keep the peaceful world peaceful.

I agree for the most part. I guess the only excuse for those who want those WAR guns is simply out of the gun hobby itself. It's not all meant to be used, but rather, just pride of ownership, for show, etc. Does it make sense in that regard?

Anyone remember that one episode of Simpsons (Except Banzai) when homer buys a gun..;

"And what is this Gun for?"

Homer: "Uhhh"

"Sport, Game, Hunt, Practice, or....Other"

Homer: "Other"

Yeah 'other' doesnt really justify there being assault rifles on the street, no matter their classification for me. If they dont have to be there, why sell them?

The only reason it would have any bearing with an american or otherwise would be because of a patriotic need or want for these weapons or simply because they are "allowed" by the constitution.

I say suck it up and make the streets just a little safer. Being more strict on gun laws. And definately all you guys need is a more efficient way of bringing guns to the people. All it really is, is: Factory, gunstore, person. All you need is a forth semi-strict control law. A license perhaps. One that would truly train someone in gun control, and weed out those who might use it for another purpose. Make it so not just any schmoe off the street can buy a gun. Background checks have to be a must.

And again, eliminating higher powered weapons that may not just be used for "keeping your home safe".

Its not a solution to the problem, nothing ever is. It is just training people to know that guns are not a toy and it takes a responsible individual to use one.

True true. BUT, most guns used by crooks are stolen in the first place (who cares what you need to do to get it legally!) and are normal handguns, not super assault mega rifle machine gun T1000's.

It is a tough thing to regulate or fight, either way you slice it. Seems like changing people's attitudes toward things, and preventing people from becoming capable of doing such things mentally, is the more effective way to go. I mean, everyone's born innocent of such things right?

You gotta be kidding me. I own/or have owned more assault rifles than i can count on two hands. Am I gonna go out and kill every person that flips me off or cuts me off in traffic. **** no. Am I menace to society because I own multiple assault rifles? **** no. Will i hesitate to double-tap some ******* that threatens my family? **** no. I personally enjoy guns. I am also in the philosophy of "its better to have a gun and not need it, than it is to need a gun and not have one.

The assault rifle ban got lifted because it was asinine. Enough said.

The ban on assult rifles that recently expired didnt not lower the number of violent gun crimes at all. These guys are still going to commit the crimes, theyre gonna use whatever they can get
