Hey, Im new to this board-actually Im new to the RX-7, previosly I was an enthusiast of the S2000...but then I heard about the RX-7 and converted...I know most of the basics about the rotary engine...I was just wondering what advantages it has over other cars such as the S2000. Thanks for you help!

Now come on Yuca, don't be too harsh! Pistons can be useful. For instance you can take the conrods and pins out and put all your spare nuts and bolts in them so there not all over your workshop bench! Hey Nosmaniac, good to see you've seen the light. An excellent choice of transport!

Never driven or rode in any of the 2 cars. So as far as what advantage one has over the other i dont know. The only thing that the S2k has going for it, IMO, is the convertible top. But for less than, say maybe, half the price of an S2k, you can find yourself a very good 2nd gen rx7 convertible and even make it faster than the S2k.

Becuase Rotary Engines like, put out really good vibes man. There's none of this up and down motion that upsets the cosmic oneness of everything, but a semi circular motion that pleases the gods most wonderfully!
Plus there's the joy of asking stupid auto parts people for new valve springs.
Or beating someone in and them saying "Oh you have twice as many cylinders as I do!"
And all three generations look totally different and yet have the same lovely engine in them.
It's NOT A HONDA!
And of course, you get to post on the nopistons fourm which is perhaps the ultimate benifit.
