Another point of note. Lets compare two systems that are exactly the same except the one amplifier has more power than the other. Lets say one is a 100W amp and the other is a 600W amp. Now, our ears perceive about every 10dB of power as a doubling in loudness, depending on frequency and the loudness that we start with, but we will ignore that for simplicity. So, how much louder can a 600W amp get compared to a 100W amp?

Formula: 10log(amp(a)/amp(b))

10log6= 7.78dB, not quite a doubling in perceved loudness, but 6X the power.

Just think of your electric bill...LOL.

I learned all I know from Termpro and DIY Subwoofer pages!

It was a toss-up between Adire Audio and Beyond Audio...they're Inhuman's a CRAZY. But, the Brahma got more respect from the Termpro people, and it was significantly (about $100) cheapter.

I can't wait to hear it in a home theater setup.

Speaking of Adire Audio, I found this website awhile back where this guy took 12 12" Shiva's and made a pillar. The subs were mounted on the outside, with the magnets facing away from the center of the pillar. The guy then placed this pillar (which was in the basement) under his living room, about 3' from his TV. He cut a whole in the floor. The thing could actually be used as a support for his house.

He said that his wife was at a neighbor's house, next door, and couldn't handle all the bass.

I've seen those pics, very neat set-up, too much bass for me.

Right now I'm running a pair of 7" Scan-Speaks and a pair of 30" Newform ribbons, that's it.

Digisan Knows his stuff. I also own a harmon Kardon Reciever. It is rated at 500watts but compared to my old 600watt kenwood it is 10x better.

I dont really like to tell people which is better when it comes to recievers. It is like comparing sports cars. My friend hates my HK stuff and prefers his Onkyo. It depends on what you like.

Yes, but you can always go louder, and since I know the security around here, the only problem is when my folks are around. So, when the folks are gone, I can crank it up 2 d max. ******* neighbors, call the cops as soon as they hear a dog bark...
