I've decided to drive the fuel truck home from work. Think 1200 gallons will last me till this is over?

I wonder if things will get desperate enough that people will start jacking them. I know I want to jack me one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png . If only I have somewhere to hide it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Ours just got to $1.629/L for 98. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif Diesel's at it's highest in history, first time over a dollar at $1.019/L https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

All anyone has to do is get into an airport at night, watch out for the security guard, take a gas can up to the 100ll fuel truck, find the nozzle on the bottom that says "sump", turn the lever and fill up the can. No way of tracking it that way, don't even need the keys to the truck to turn on the pump. Not that I do that when I have access to a half dozen 50 gallon drums full of waste sumped fuel already.

boxrs4sale 09-01-2005 11:35 PM

yeah, but you could get some **** in your car with sumped fuel.. iv'e seen some shitty ass low lead come outta 172's befopre

rowtareh 09-01-2005 11:36 PM

Our fuel is delivered weekly, and I sump off the top of the barrels. Water and debri, what little there is, sinks to the bottom. Also AV-GAS doesn't break down like gasoline.

A vw diesel is a very good engine, I wouldn't be concerned about reliability.

So long as you don't abuse or modify a car it should stay highly reliable, so long as you do regular mantainace.

$3.59 here seems like alot of people flipped out here, long lines at the pump looks as if the end is nigh.Im not gonna complain....some of you have it alot worse than us.

Black8 09-02-2005 11:06 AM

3.29 for regular, 3.69 for 93 It'll be 3.59 and 3.99 repectively byt the end of the day.

I don't miss my 13mpg RX8 much........30mpg Corolla.....nice. We have 2 of them, a 94 Corolla wagon 5speed, and the new Corolla XRS....

how much are those little motorcycle things.. suppossedly get 100mpg or something..

Edna 09-02-2005 12:48 PM

Watch out for price goudging. Lots of places are tryin it. Like a place in Atlanta charging $6.09. When asked he just said that he did it to keep people from buying it, so that he could conserve it. Thats a bunch of bullshit. Most of the places here are out of gas. Or if they do have it its only premium. Not to mention a really busy weekend in town. Labor day first game of the season, FSU vs. Miami, and lots of hurricane evacuees.

All the FUCKHEADS WHO ARE DRIVING ON VACATION THIS WEEKEND, and to STUPID ******* FOOTBALL GAMES etc: You all are a bunch of Self-Absorbed ASSHOLES!!!!! Take the $$$$$ you would have spent on gas and food and donate it to the recovery effort.

Shane.Trammell 09-02-2005 01:20 PM

i looked at motor scooters on ebay last night. if youre going to get one make sure its not one of the 30mph max ones, the ones that arent are kinda expensive though. im sure it would pay for it self soon at 80 to 100 mpg
