Christmas Eve: in-law family lunch

evening mass with my mother, then opening of gifts

Christmas Day: morning: opening of gifts with wife, son, in-laws (who I live with)

afternoon: opening of gifts with my father and step mother, step brother



I just want to sit around in pj's and play with stuff, and I don't know when the hell I'm supposed to hang out with my brothers



12/27: *supposed to* drive 5 hours to visit with in-law extended family, then drive back same day or next day



12/28: drive down to beach to spend new year's week at rented beach house with mother and some family

 

That sounds pretty hectic. I'm flying from IA to NY on Christmas eve...let's just hope I make it on time, because after that it's smooth sailing.

 

Just lock yourself in the basement or something..

 

when I was a kid, and my parents were together, every year we'd drive 8 hours to my grandmother's on christmas eve, and spend several days there, and that seemed easier than skipping around town in one day

 

remember this in the future and don't get divorced!
