Ok, I had become a lounge rat on the club, but that changed suddenly. The ****'s over there removed my avatar and sig, no warning, no reasons why it was taken down. If you had visited over there today, you would know the avatar. I would post here, but oh **** it. Phins does not care, **** we have a damned X-Rated section for crying out loud.



So, I am done on that forum as far as the lounge goes. I am just trying to figure out who got rid of it. They did it to EVERYBODY with "risque" avatars.





So that's my new avatar for there. I think it works well for that forum.

 

Anytime you get corporate involvement in a public forum you are going to have censorship to varying degrees. I've been on several forums past and present that have been bought out by small and large companies and there are a few things they do I can't stand. What i am saying is that's what you get for hanging out at the club you disloyal **** LOL



Anyhow, back on topic, I had one forum that i hang/hung out on, they got bought out, first thing was those god damned ads that pop up in your post based on key words. i have a HUGE issue with this as I feel it's modifying every post i make to some extent, not to mention i can't scroll the ******* topic without a bubble popping up. The last straw was they started deleting all political posts and even though i didn't agree with the majority of the views I sure as **** agree with their right to post them.



And there are plenty of people around here I've pissed off and no doubt they've wondered on to other forums and you'll find a good number don't like the way **** is done around here and yet they stick around and constantly remind me of it That is of course the beauty of the internets, you can always find another forum on your topic of choice and odds are you'll eventually find one that fits your needs. What it boils down to, if you don't like the way a forum is ran or the staff or the ******** that runs it, move on. The only thing your presense and frequent visits do is indicate they are doing something right, company's that buy forums are only interested in traffic, traffic means money from advertisers. Doesn't matter if you are there to bitch, browse or post your a hit and yer viewing their pages and making them money. Personally, about the best thing you can do when one of these places get bought out is find another haunt.

 

I never was "disloyal" so to say. I like the people on here much more, but it has died down a bit. And yeah, they tend to talk **** on there about this forum from time to time. And I defended this forum when **** was talked about.



And yeah, you are right about the whole thing of them being bought out, but supposedly the "Moderating Staff" is not run by Owners/Admins. I said sure, and my **** actually smells good!



But what I don't understand is how people on the club hate this forum, when there are NO ads, you can do pretty much whatever the hell you want, there's an X-Rated section here, you can be contacted at anytime pretty much, and you actually RESPOND within a good amount of time.





I guess if I ever post on there, at the bottom of my posts I will put www.nopistons.com-the forum that cares.

That said, for the record, we have about 50% more unique visitors in comparison to last year. Last year in 10/06 we had 23,375 unique visits last month 10/07 32,309 unique visits, november is already above that and it aint over.



does that translate to gen d posts? no, but i am not so sure that's a bad thing.



rx7 club is the big one, always has been, it's the difference between walking into your corner grocer or shopping at walmart, i guess. Some prefer to buy a quality product from their local merchant while many are happy with the chinese crap from walmart

 

oh and oddly enough myspace is our biggest referrer LOL

I know of one forum where the admin and only mod not only censors posts, but he makes

spelling and grammer corrections- and lets it be known he did it. Meanwhile he offers no edit function.



he also gets VERY upset if you bring up a topic that was already touched upon.



We are talking a forum that gets maybe 15 posts a DAY!
