FEDex loses my motor
#1
sooooo i sent my motor out to be cermet coated by JHB Performance. they shipped it back to me via fedex, it got to south jersey (im in north jersey) and was magically "temporarily misplaced" in the keasbey, nj facility.
so now i have to put in a lost package claim and try to get enough money to buy 2 new rotor housings, have the stage 3 ported, and ceramic coated (around $2000 worth of stuff).
thank you fedex for delaying my car, i knew i liked UPS better for some reason.
this is the first shipping problem ive had with ANYTHING ive ordered for any of my cars, and ive ordered tens of thousnads of stuff online, hell it was easier to buy my turbo from aruba and have it shipped here. of course what do i lose in the mail? my **********ing motor.
now im really close to just packing the whole thing up and selling it.

that sucks. I have a feeling someone working there knew what it was. But then again, how could you smuggle something like that out of the building. Hope everything is OK.
thats the easy part!

I'd still use fedex over UPS anyday. THeir Brokerage house for cross border transaction are stupid and ridicoulous.
How much did you insure it for? 3k? for 3K you can get a mazda reman with all new parts. Have money left over for a real good shop to port it (like Judge Ito or Paul Yaw), and for them to put it back together. That way you know all parts are brand new.
Or you can live with a stock block. My 132,000 mile original engine, original turbo S5TII just put down 224 rear wheel horsepower on a mustang dyno. So on a dyno jet (add 10%). I made 246 rear wheel horspower at 0.80 kg/cm^2 or you USA guys that's 11.4 psi

stock block? im aiming for 600hp at 25psi on a t78 and nothing else in the engine bay is stock, literally nothing.
i'm trying to find out the insurance **** now. supposively with lost packages insurance is different, if i received it and it was fucked up then id go thru insurance but apparently with lost stuff they dont require insurance.
but we shall see theyre sending a "grounds specialist" to search the facility.
the same place "misplaced" my n/a diff for 2-3 weeks when banzai shipped it to me. and that was an entire diff case on a wooden pallet! idiots.
but yea if i can get at least $2k for it, which in reality it is worth, then i can try to come out ahead. im just tired of delaying this car for 2 years now.

funny, we had the same FedEx facility drop a Atlantic motor so hard, it cracked (terminally) the block and broke the cam tray off the head, and broke the cam pulleys off, taking the cams out too. They where in for a shock because it was a 22,000 dollar motor. It was paid for very quickly. That particular facilty is know for breaking stuff.
I doubt somebody stole the motor. good luck
