my sister is looking into buying a laptop.(yes the same one that was for sale a year ago, lol. early nopistons "joke") anyway she narowed it down to a gateway 400s and a dell 200n. we have never bought a pc from either manufacturers and were wondering which was a better product. or if you know of any other laptop with similar specs that ud recommend, or can get them cheaper(circuit city, lol) please let me know.

Same ****.. I like dell cause all my brothers have them, and I know they have good service. Plus they have been doing this type of business longer than Gateway.. But they offer very much the same stuff and warraties so it will not really matter..

Yeah, that dude looks ******* annoying and even worse on TV adds.. I would almost buy from another company instead of Dell because of that ****.. I beleive he was awarded most annoying person of the year in some magazines..

 

Sure, he's annoying, but Dell is the computer I'd buy if I didn't build my own.



....And I don't build laptops...

 

I'd buy an Alienware, if I could afford it.. or a Falcon.. Those are sexy.. But Dell still outperforms Gateway..

 

I don't know about laptops, but I believe that gateway is junk!! Do not, repete, do not buy anything from Gateway. I've had 3 power supplys in mine(Made in three different countries.) I've had it into gateway three times on top of that. The last time, they charge me to download all of my memory, didn't and wiped everything out!(and charged me for it!!)

I've gotten all the way to the head office in Calif. and its basically "you bought it, you got it, tough luck!)

I'm waiting for it to die one more time so I can throw it out of the window(tallest building) and go buy a good computer!
