Dealer Mark Up Crap
#1
Alright lastnight I attended an I-club local meet..why? because I own a subie too. well many people I know an many I don't showed up in some very nice wrx's when 4 guys from the subie dealer...( which is right across the street from where we were meeting) came hauling *** into the lot in a bran spanking new 04 sti. with only 16 miles on the clock...very nice up close! Now I don't know how much anyone has paid attention to them or the many many mag. write up on it but the MSRP is 32k and change..now you do expect some mark up... hell the local mitsu. dealer marked up the evo. from 30k to 36k... so you would expect the same from subaru right? **** NO! we asked them how much the 5 they got in were selling for... are you ready for this 40-42k....I was thinking of trading up for one but after seening that and the attitude of the dealers who drove it in...they can eat ****...I'll just wait until one of those stupid ***** crashes another one on a test drive then buy the **** I want from it...like the sti 6 speed and eng. ahhaha then slap those in my subie...vrooooommmm....be so sweet to have a fast *** subie and my RX-7 on the road kicking much ***.

evo handles better, and supposidly that 6 speed in the STi is actually worse
for the 1/4 mile, it makes for one extra shift and the gearing in it is ****.
The Evo is just as fast if not faster due mainly to the tranny.
My local mitsui dealer seems to sit on there Evos for 2 weeks or so, right now
he has 3 of them that have been there for a few weeks. Dont think there are too many people in the market for a $30,000 Lancer.

I went to the local Mitsu dealership and they have no markup on their Lancers. The Price tag was $30,500 or thereabouts. I actually talked to the guy for a while about it and I decided to buy one as soon as I graduate (about a year) if there are any around. I think all the factory options are well worth the price. Its got a ton of bells and whistles that are actually useful, like the electronically height-adjustable headlights and the intercooler sprayer. It's all in all a very nice package at a pretty reasonable price, in my opinion. I just can't wait to graduate to get me one!
