Pardon me while I vent. . .

I have never in all my years of working in IT, working with telecom companies and the like EVER seen ANY company as stupid, ignorant, incompetent, incapable and out and out useless as Qwest. They can't get anything right, they can't fix anything in a decent amount of time, they don't even know what the hell it is they are dealing with.

Case in point my ISDN line.

Lets see, took them 4 months to figure out how to install it (They said it was a "voice coil" issue....) Then even now that it's installed it STILL doesn't run at 128k and of course they can't figure out why this is and swear it's provisioned and working and all that.

Bullshit.

I've set up 10 - 15 ISDN lines and never once had a single problem like this. Faulty equpiment on my end? Not bloodly likely I'm using 3COM gear to nail down the line.

I don't know how to set one up? Nahhh just been working with stuff like this for the last 3 - 4 years and done it before.

They say MCI is rolling out a nation wide phone service. I sure hope so, I can't WAIT to get away from Qwest.

Qworst: Ride the Hype.

I almost went with Qwest for ISDN... or well ISDL (almost the same thing). 144K. I even bought a modem for it, but thankfully Cable Internet became available.

I have setup plently of DSL/ISDN lines for my company and QWEST really has their heads up there butt. 3 times I have had to wait for them to resetup ISDN circuits because they gave me a ISDN line with one prefix and set it up on a server in another city (Long Distance).

QWEST needs to be reorganized! Or refocused.

Telecommunications companies are some of the worst out there. They give some of the worst service, and the people you talk to over the phone...well.

I prefer DSL over Cable in most cases, but if I can get a place that's within range of both I'd probably go Cable.

Yeah I hate em that much.

Yes I prefer DSL even though Cable is much faster. I get T1 speeds for less than $40 a month. Previously I had DSL from Qwest at my old house. It was nice... but Qwest were assholz to deal with. Plenty of downtime.

I had the Qwest DSL and it was the second worse thing I could do to my computer. I now have the AT&T cable and its never let me down.
