I'm not able to connect through bearshare now. I am not 100% sure of what connection I have, I'm hooked through ethernet...



I can get on the internet, obviously, but cant connect to the gnutella network.



any clue as to why this might happen?

 

Where are you connecting at? Work? Home? Its possible that whoever provides your connection has blocked access to those ports

it is possible. I'm connecting through the dorms network.

Why are you all sharing bears anyway? It doesn't sound safe to me. Not exactly what I'd call a SFWC.
