I am thinking about getting a Nokia 6800 but wanted to see what you guys thought about it. I just need basic service and a decent battery life nothing trick.
My other options are:
Samsung X426
Nokia 3595 IM
Sony Ericsson T226
LG G4011
Let me know the good and the bad

Don't get one, there goes 40 bucks a month every month. I have a cell phone for almost 7 years now. Think of how much that cost me.
40x12x7= 3360 and that doesn't account for the intial price of the cell phone or when i had to pay a lot more then 40 bucks a month.

if u just want basic service look into a plan that u buy the minutes you actually use. unless you plan on being on the phone a lot, i thinks thats the way to go. i dont make calls that much from my phone, but i sure do use it for other things, text, check email, IM, pics, annoy friends cause theyre trying to talk to me and im using the wireless web, dogs chew toy(dont ask), etc.

...some friends of mine use it as their main phone line as well...didn't buy a phone line at their Apt/Condo and just use cell phone and cable (for internet).
Take that as you will, I hate that I worry about having it with me (another item to worry about, like when you first get contacts, and etc..), i really despise it becoming "a part" of me...
The only thing I want to worry about is the Rx7. :P

I used to love having a cel phone I thought it was so cool. Now I hate it. I turn if off at the end of the workday and back on after I get to the office on Monday. Its usually off all weekend to.
Being accessable 24-7 isn't all its cut out to be.

I am mainly getting it for long distance. I am spending $30 a month on LD right now and the cell plan I want/used to have before is $45 a month after tax. Teh price does not really bother me since it is an expense that will just manifest itself somewhere else, either as a phone card or home LD. Plus I miss so many calls each day on the home phone.

i got the Metro pcs deal which is cool in some ways and sucks in others. i can make unlimited calls anytime anyday to any US state and talk all day for $50 a month. But I can only use it in my calling area which sucks for trips.
