called Mazda about the 6/rx-8

I called the Mazda dealership today to ask about the 6 and the RX-8, incase there was a waiting list for them. He told me the RX-8 wasnt going to be out until sometime in 2003, I asked him for a price, and he said probably around $35,000 HE said there was a list just so you would get the first ones to come in, but it wasnt anything special. As for the Mazda 6, september 2002 release in sedan form, which I like the best anyhow, with either the 4cyl, or the 6cyl which is something like 215 horsepower. Oh well, looks like the Mazda 6

Yes, but it will be the year 2003, its not 1995 anymore! I was thinking under $30,000 otherwise it wont sell and it will go bye-bye. the figure I had in mind was in the $24,000-$27,000 range, now that I think about it, I would be hard pressed to lay out $27,000 for the car anyhow, the Mazda 6 is the more logical choice.

The RX8 is going to be in the 25K range. There is also the Nissan Z car that will be out shortly in the 25K range.
Magazine articles said both Nissan and Mazda has been complaining that they had priced themselfs right out of the market and sales of the old Z and RX7 were down due to that. Nissan is trying to get back to the Z Car roots, with Mazda doing the same.
I do though see Dealers doing what they did with the Miata, putting huge dealer markups on the RX8.

Well think about things. That was 1995 this is 2003. One little bitch called inflation kind of changes prices around a lot. I think Mazda is wise making a four person car. But I would much rather have a 93 R1 over the RX-8. I just wish they would bring the 7 back to the US. Especially with the Spirit R.
