Best Cable/DSL Router??

Anyone have one yet.. I've been looking for one.. but now there are sooo many out there...



I'm looking for a 4 port w/ firewall, VPN etc..etc..



hmm.. maybe get a single port and hook one of my 12 or 8 port hub..



Any suggestions??

i got a Linksys router, and its been pimp so far. havent had any problems at all. recommend it. the Dlink is supposed to be good too, but i dont know bout that one, and the SMC Barricade or wutever its called has a printer port and ****, but it sucks ***...

Yea the Linksys is a good router, can't go wrong with it. I am just going to go with a switch and use a Linux box as a DHCP server and firewall.

Same here. I"m using the 4 port router. I paid too much a few years ago, but now they're pretty cheap.

Lynksys router 4port but wireless. Works very well, very fast and reliable. It is also very simple to settup.

yeah, it works. It actually fast. It actually makes everything seems faster. I can go out side with my laptop and play with my haltech and me on AIM at the same time. IT does have its limitations but it works very well for that I need it for.

It's only 11MPS though. Wireless can't obtain the speeds of cabled, hell I have a gigabit card on one of my servers... dual port none the less.



If you go wireless make sure you get a switch and not a hub, otherwise you're splitting the 11mps 4 ways.

My brother wanted the wireless stuff because he didn't want to wait for me to wire everything up. I guess it would have been ok, but I already had the router, etc. I guess that everybody likes to complain when they didn't spend any money and do all of the work.
