Wowzer!! Oklahoma car insurance is re-damn-diculous. Had I been renewing the rx7 it would have gone from $425 every six months to $1350. The mini isn't too bad, went from $190 to $280 every 6 months. Had I known that I would have bought some KY before going in there to renew.

Where did you move from? I can't imagine Oklahoma costing much more than any state. I am in Missouri and I pay $650/6 months or so for full coverage on my FD and I am only 22 with two speeding tickets and an accident.

I came from North Carolina, had full coverage, clean record, owned it since I was 20 which makes me 23 now. I know the weather out here has some influence (hail and tornadoes) on higher rates, which explains the $100 increase on the mini, which I can swallow. But $425 to $1350 is just crazy to expect anyone to pay that much, especially with the clean record. Honestly even if i was planning on keeping the rx7, if i had to fork out $2700 a year on insurance just on the rx7, the car would be up for sale regardless. When I turn 25 it would go down to $850...big whoop. Its very disapointing it has to be that way, I already hate the theory behind insurance.
The mini's can be on classic car insurance which is super cheap, try $70 bucks per car every 6 months. But the catch is, the car has to be garaged and I have to have proof of a daily driver. They also don't want you driving the classic cars but so many miles per year, but they don't check. And I really wouldn't need a garage, however if I filed a claim and they came to look at the car, i'd be screwed. I would need to find someone with a garage and use them on the form, so if they had to inspect the damage, the car would be parked in whoevers garage. I'm seriously thinking about buying a royal POS car for say....50 bucks, have it insured and get the classic car insurance. Could save an easy $750 a year after the POS car insurance. Sound like a plan??
